Sophia Hadjipanteli is a model rocking her natural face and body hair
Eyebrows continue to act as a statement piece for the face, with influencers and models alike fluffing them up to new proportions of thickness.
No one understands this better than model Sophia Hadjipanteli, who has appeared in a plethora of major magazines around the world while sporting a natural unibrow.
Sophia’s advocacy and philosophy centers on her belief in expressing her natural beauty.
The gorgeous star has cited her mother as inspiration for her own self-love, explaining that her mother helped to teach her much of what she knows. She, according to the model, is the person who accepted Sophia at all stages of life while inspiring her to think creatively.
Her mother also helped Sophia to become comfortable in her own skin, helping her to learn that she could be happy about being different from others. The model has clearly taken these lessons and ran with them, infusing creativity and uniqueness into her work.
Even with her confidence, Sophia has not experienced acceptance in every circle. She was not always treated well in high school, and she has experienced plenty of negativity online for daring to be different. The unkind words never stopped her independence or hurt her confidence, however.
If anything, the hate only fueled her to become more accepting of her own uniqueness. She expresses her self-acceptance all the time in the press, such as when she explained, “It’s especially satisfying to know that that big unibrow is on the cover of Glamour UK, and it looks great.”
Sophia continued, “If I want to be out there and really expressive and be myself, I get to wear whatever I want, and I get to embrace the unibrow — and if I don’t, I can always tone it down. But it’s always my decision — and I think that’s why a lot of people follow me because I’m just myself, and I’m not really influenced by what everybody else is telling me to do.”
Her positivity and advocacy have expanded past herself, as well. Sophia created the Unibrow Movement, where Instagram users can find endless images of people who look as unique as themselves under a hashtag of the same name.
The intent of the movement, much like Sophia’s photographs, is to help people to see that they can be happily unique as well. The hashtag allows thousands to see that anyone should be able to love themselves and others, even when they might be considered different or unusual. It promotes positive comments and feedback.
Sophia’s posts acknowledge that self-love does not come immediately, and takes hard work, but also that it is entirely worth the effort.
In her own words, “It is a process. Not everyone feels 100% every single day, and that is totally okay. It starts inside, though! You could be the most ’perfect’ person in the world, but if you don’t see it with your own eyes, you’ll never feel that love for yourself. It takes time to build that relationship with yourself, but once you do, everything just feels so much better. You feel free.”
Sophia revealed in one of her Instagram posts that she regretted getting lip fillers, which she has since disbanded. It was embarrassing to admit it, but she wanted to be open about her ”mistake.”
“I didn’t need them, but I wanted to try them,” she says.
We could all learn to spread positivity and self-acceptance like Sophia!
